Jamier Hughes Featured in Philadelphia Style’s 2025 Men of Influence

Jamier Hughes, CEO of Hughes Housing, was profiled in Philadelphia Style’s 2025 Men of Influence.

The mission

Jamier stepped into real estate knowing it could be a path to both personal and community growth.

What keeps him motivated is the transformation: taking something overlooked and bringing it back to life. Fix-and-flip projects allow him to create homes that families can enjoy while building something lasting for his own family. For 2025, the focus is growing the brand, moving further into development, and expanding the fix-and-flip business.

The challenge

The current market has tested his creativity. Rising interest rates and tighter lending conditions are pushing buyers to be resourceful, and access to capital has been one of the biggest obstacles: the demand is there, but the resources to meet it don’t always move as quickly as the opportunities.

The pivot

Learning never stops. Jamier invests in education through seminars, masterminds, and constant networking, and credits mentorship as a vital part of the journey. When capital became a challenge, he shifted focus to deepening investor relationships and raising additional funding.

The victory

Next comes scaling the portfolio with more cash-flowing assets and stronger industry partnerships, while strengthening the neighborhoods Hughes Housing invests in. Recently, Hughes Housing was awarded eight vacant lots from the Philadelphia Land Bank to develop affordable housing in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia, a step that reflects the mission to grow while giving back.
